About the Event

Our mission is to host a series of events promoting the working horse in the western disciplines. Our goal in these events is to educate and advance horsemanship to the novice and hobby riders in a fun family friendly environment.

The SIWH Series is a pilot competition sponsored by Cornerstone Horsemanship in partnership with Smokn' Guns Arena and River Valley Horsecamp. Compete in 5 different areas: Halter and In Hand, Undersaddle, Working Cow, Roping, and Speed with your working horse or mule. Compete for awards in each class as well as end of the year awards for Top Horse, Top Mule, and Top Rider.

To kick off the series, Smokn' Guns Arena is hosting a clinic for attendees to learn about the classes, what they will be judged on, as well as opportunity to learn a new skill for the competition. Try your hand at roping and learn what it takes to throw a rope from your horse. Get your horse introduced and acclimated to cattle. And pick-up tips to help you excel in all areas of the competition. Clinic participants will be eligible for the "Excellence in Horsemanship" buckle at the end of the year, based on how much improvement you and your horse have made.

By clicking the RSVP you will receive an e-mail to confirm your registration and an invoice to complete the registration process.

Clinic Cost; $80.00 - includes cattle fee. Lunch will be available on the grounds.

Shows: July 24th at River Valley, Farmington, IA

Oct. 16th at Smok'n Guns, Danville, IA
