About the Event

All our rider spots are currently filled! You can get on the waiting list in case a spot opens by "purchasing" a Wait List ticket at no cost. If you would like to come and audit, please purchase a ticket so we can keep a head count for meals, if you would like to be on the Wait List, please purchase that ticket as well, and the balance will be applied to your deposit in the event a riding spot becomes available for you. 

Come and learn more about the art of Cowboy Dressage, the fastest growing discipline in the US.  Melanie Smith-Breidt, a Level 2 Clinictian from Colorado, will teach you how to ride the court and dance with your horse.  Melanie works to promote successful and thriving horsemanship through clear communication, sound boundaries, and mutual respect. Participants will spend Friday and Saturday learning the basics of Cowboy Dressage and then be challenged on Sunday with a Cowboy Dressage Schooling Challenge. Participants will be split into two groups. While one group rides while the other group will be able to learn by observing. There will be time at the end of the day for Questions and individual work if needed. During the Challenge participants will each get to experiance all aspects; from judging, to scribing, to calling tests, and riding the court. This Clinic will give everyone a great introduction into the discipline of Cowboy Dressage.  

Cowboy Dressage has a level for every horse and rider from groundwork tests, to walk only tests, walk & jog tests, and walk, jog, & lope tests. So don't think Cowboy Dressage doesn't have something to offer you. Young horses are welome as well as seasoned horses. 

Total cost of the clinic is $255.00; $100.00 desposit (ticket) is required to hold your spot. 5 Meals are included. Participants should plan to arrive on Thursday March 31st. River Valley Lodge and Horsecamp has accomidations for you and your horse.
